The Financial Aid Office - Helping Fund Christian Education

For students seeking federal financial aid for the 2009-2010 school year, he or she must fill out and file a FAFSA.  Your 2008 tax information will be helpful for the completion of the FAFSA and you will want to have your tax information handy.  Filing the FAFSA is YOUR RESPONSIBILITY.  If you need assistance in completing the FAFSA form or need a paper version of the form, the Financial Aid Office is open Monday - Thursday, 8:30 AM - 7:30 PM to assist you, or you can file online by simply clicking on this FAFSA link.

Federal funds available to students during the 2009-2010 school years include: Pell Grants, FSEOG, Federal Work Study, PLUS Loans, and Stafford  Loans.  In addition, qualifying veterans are eligible for additional benefits.  The seminary has four in-house scholarships that are available: The Gaston and Sylvia Grigg Scholarship, the Lee Douglas and Carroll Flowe Scholarship, the Student Government Association Scholarship, and the Christian Vocation Scholarship.  The deadline for applying for all in-house scholarships is April 1, 2009 for the 2009-2010 school year.  Federal funds have a later deadline.

For a thorough understanding of the financial aid that is available, students should read the 2009-2010 Financial Aid Handbook.

Help or questions concerning all financial aid matters may be directed to Mrs. Judith Main, Registrar Financial Aid/Officer -704-334-6882, extension 103 or by emailing jmain@nlts.edu.   NLTS is committed to helping every student receive all funds available to them.  Students who have already filed their FAFSA and received their SAR and desire to apply for a loan may use the appropriate link below.  Please do not seek a loan through the links below without first discussing it with Mrs. Main.

You may now go to the College Foundation of North Carolina to complete an online application for the Stafford Loan, PLUS Loan, complete a FAFSA, and lots more.  Once you enter the home page, you will need to register.  Do not be alarmed that the Seminary does not appear in the list of "Private Colleges" as we are more than just a college.  During the loan application process you will find the Seminary listed in the list of schools.  The CFNC will notify us of your application.  Click this link to be redirected to the College Foundation of North Carolina.

10 Steps to Prayer

1.    Find a comfortable place where you won't be interrupted. Read several chapters of one of the Gospels:  Matthew, Mark, Luke or John.

2.    Close your eyes: give thanks for three things.  Move toward God and away from self-sufficiency.

 3.    Ask God to bless and help three other people who you believe may need God's help today.  Move toward others and away from self-centeredness.

 4.    Ask God to forgive your sins and mistakes as you confess them; ask God to give you the strength to forgive.

 5.    Ask God to help one other person that you find hard to like. Ask for insight into that person's problems and how you may allow God's love to flow through you.

 6.    Ask to be sensitive today toward the needs of one person with whom you may share God's love by word and deed.

 7.    Ask for insight into your own personal problems.

 8.    Ask for help in achieving your personal goals.

 9.    Ask God to tell you the most important thing you need to do

today in order to “seek first His kingdom.”

10.  Listen for three minutes for what God may say to you.
